I am going to do this mod, but I am having difficulty understanding one thing.
Here is what I do understand (I think!!!)...
The waste gate bleeds off excess pressure at the turbo itself. It's controlled by the ECU and is progressive. The BPV (if this is what I think I am looking at on my 96 900SET) is the recirculation valve between turbo output and turbo inlet. It seems to me that both of these (wastegate and BPV) would tend to decrease boost if open. Is that correct???
So, installing the MBC on the wastegate actuator only works if the BPV never opens.
Couple of questions:
1. When does the BPV valve open (hi manifold vacuum???)
2. What is meant - specifically - by installing MBC before/after/bypassing the BPV valve.
Looking at the Dawes instructions, there is no mention of plumbing into the BPV.
Can you enlighten me as I am eager to order and install?
Thanks again for your help, Rob
