I cleaned out the throttle body last night, it was fairly gunked up, not too bad, not too good. That carb cleaner is great stuff, took the gunk right off. Test drive: I was burning rubber (a little bit) for the first time since I had my mustang! And the car seems to accellerate smoother, just my imagination? How does one clean well into that rectangular metal housing past the butterfly? I just squirted some cleaner in there, toweled up whatever flowed out.
I also did a techron concentrate in the tank. The car started nice this a.m. for my wife, but only time will tell.
The coolant did NOT seem to have white in it, nor any oily-type stuff, and the oil by the oil cap did not have white stuff either. But the coolant reservior did have dark little specks floating around. I just changed the upper radiator hose about a month ago, maybe the darkness and bits are from the hose/residue? Anyone else have any ideas?
Thanks again for the good advice.
