The coolant flow does not need to be maintained. So you don't need to bypass. I installed a single bypass valve.
The air flowing through a partially closed throttle can create temerature drops that will cause icing. The crank case gases vented throught the small orifice ports in the TB supply the moisture. When on part throttle you can get ice that can interfere with the throttle plate.
When the engine is shut down, heat will always soak into the TB, and when on boost the intake air will heat up a lot. So there are still some icing issues. And damp weather is also a contributor. So I have a valve, and I can open it for the winter seasons. The hose barbs on the TB are 10mm, a bit of a problem for hose barbs threaded into a 1/4" or 3/8" ball valve. I did post some details.
