And folks have tried those plugs, and they create no end of trouble. Sometimes right away, but more often after a while they are carboned up and the spark tracks through the carbon deposit to ground and does not jump the spark gap. And as the breakdown voltage of the gap increases with boost pressure the misfiring starts to show up at higher levels of boost and progressively gets worse and starts to misfire at lower pressures. And the misfiring once it starts leaves lots of unburn fuel around with the creates carbon deposits faster and faster. Then .....
And I can look in my Psion and tell you the partnumber of the plug that Bosch technical support told me in 1995 to use in my 95SET. So there is a reason why I know these details. :) But a lesson well learned!
