1st car!
Then you will need a spark plug wrench. Use only NGK BCPR6ES11's, 7ES11's will do but will not stay as clean. Don't get excited about Bosch Platinum plugs or other exotics as these will end in tears. The Saab ignition system is like no other and is fussy about its plugs.
If you are in the USA, use Techron Concentrate to clean injectors and combustion chambers. You will find it at WalMart and most auto supply shops. Use 2 or 3 times per year, depending on miles driven.
The batteries need to have distilled water added 2 or 3 times per year. Depends on your miles and climate etc. There is no such thing as a maintenance free battery.
Get a good tire guage and use it. Tire pressures are checked cold. In the winter you will need to add air.
Have the accessory belt checked out and the idler pullies too. These don't last forever.
I suggest that you use a good syntheic oil such as Mobil one 10W30. Most of the folks here who use it change their own oil and filters.
Your engine will run on low octane fuel, but that will lead to more injector deposits etc. Higher octane fuel will keep the engine cleaner and provide more power.
Depenind on you DIY abilities we can help you with performance issues if you wish.
