For my 1998 900SET, the factory service manual details the first oil change at 5,000 miles, then oil changes/minor services every 10,000 miles followed by major services/tune-ups at 35,000/65,000/95,000 miles. The cycle should then just repeat itself.
If it helps, here is my personal maintenance schedule, based on the Saab recommendations and information from this BB. Bear in mind that I tend to over-service my car in the interest of a long, trouble free life.
