NEVER buy a saab that has not been thoroughly checked by a SAAB mechanic or has a great warranty. The early NGs are aging and can cost lost if they have been neglected. What are the miles and price? Use classified here on the saabnet to check market prices, the bluebook values are not the bottom line. Be sure to check the following common probs with the older NGs: make sure that AC system is working and quiet ($), check upper mounts and ball joints ($), make sure the trans is operating smoothly ($$) (5 speed or auto). Turbo, if unmodified, should go just into the red at wide open throttle. Temp should be at approx 9 o'clock at operating temp. Get underneath and look for leaks between engine and trans ($$) and elsewhere. 16 inch tires are not cheap and can get noisy before the tred is gone. Negotiate and you can have a great performance care at a very cheap price. 1995 SET in great shape with 90K should run you about 6K$. I love my 1995. The turbo (modified with MBC) was super strong on this morning's cold air commute. Tires schrreeeeched 2x. Anyone else with suggestions? Best of luck!
