After the suggestions for the symptoms from the shift of my 96 SET. [It had been coming and going and Ed G. attributed good things to Moose Pu.] Teaching the Hard Sciences as well as the "Social Ones," I decided I needed a more definitive answer and moose stuff is hard to find in most of the lower 48. I went to the North Eastern Saab Wizard. He drove the car, screwed around when it was jaming in reverse [something I really hadn't seen] and then he lifted the hood and opened the plastic top to the gizmo holder found on the driver's side in the extreme corner right on the fire wall. He made some adjustment and it worked great. He then went to explain the good old day when there was a manual adjustment for the clutch. Apparently, today to simplify things, they have some sort of auto adjustment which had gotten out of wack and which responded when he layed his skilled hands on it. He had made a special time slot for me and I didn't pursue the issue at this time, Down the road when I catch him when we have time for coffee and donuts, I will get the full report on the particular manipulatiuon he performed, that made the shift all better and me drive the miles home with a smile on my face.
