This is not Billy from the OrangeGlo infommercial...
Rummaging around under the sink the other day I found a pack of Windex Wipes and another package called Pledge Grab It. BRAINSTORM. I just gave my car it's monthly wash and noted my 9 year old headlights were a little grubby - on the inside - like Ed G. had spent a weekend in there.
I took my flex claw retrieval device I use for fishing dropped bolts out of dark places and stuck one of the Windex Wipes in it, removed the headlight bulb and inserted the wipe on the end of the claw. I managed to clean the reflector and the glass interior to a like new condition in a few minutes without ever taking anything apart or breaking a headlight seal. Best thing was the wipe did not disintegrate. COOL. Be careful with those bulbs though and let the innards dry out for 20 minutes or so before reinstalling the bulbs.
The Pledge Grab Its are an easy way to remove brake dust from the wheels without washing the car. Saab brake dust generally isn't too bad, but if you own one of them German things... here I thought my wife had been keeping up with her Audi TT and all she was doing is taking 5 minutes to clean those wheels once a week. SHEESH. And all of this stuff you can get at the corner grocery. I'm no expert at how well this stuff works in the house, but I thought I would pass this along.
