Is this surface rust, or "bubbling through" which would be construed as perforation. The actual warranty states "a six year warranty against internal rust perforation".

The other points are;

Have the Anti Corrosion Inspections been done. If maintained by a Saab dealer he should have stamped the book. If these have not been done, your into "gesture of goodwill" territory.

Has the door been re skinned. Re skinned doors always rust, due to electrolytic action, (the techies on the board will know what I mean).

When the previous repair was done, was the Paint and Body Repair Certificate in the Service Book filled in. If it is you have a 3 year warranty on that repair. If it hasn't and can argue that it should have been, and that 3 year warranty offered in the certificate sets a standard, and that irrespective of it being filled in or not, and that the work was not done to the correct standard. You may also therefore have a claim under the UK Sale of Goods Act, which gives an implied warranty that the goods sold were are of "merchantable quality", and that these goods are not, as they do not meet Saabs own standards. Your Citizens Advice Bureau may help. If you're really p****d off, you could issue a summons under the small claims court. Even if it comes to court, it only costs a hundred quid or so, and just the threat will be enough, especially if you also threaten to write to the BBC Watchdog or similar.

I would by-pass the delaer, go straight to Saab GB (who offer the warranty anyway), and ask for a repair, plus compensation, threaten to go legal, and/or to a consumer programme, and sit back and watch em run.
