It may not be there!! Apparently they weren't always factory fitted.

There are many threads on this topic on alt.autos.saab

I looked for mine without success, virtually demolishing the boot (trunk) in the process. Had to send GBP30 to buy a new one as I'd bought the changer second hand without the cable :-(

I'd recommend popping the head unit and fishing around behind the dash for the connector first (its quite distinct, a compact x(?)pin connector).

If you've found the connector pull the side 'carpet' in the boot (you'll need to remove the speaker trim and other bits first) and look around near the arial for an identical connector. Apparently other posts have reported that if it is factory fitted in your car, it'll be tied in a loop near the arial.

Of course, if the cable isn't factory fitted (as in my '97 900 Talladega) you'll have to pull aside the boot carpet anyway!! Oh, and lots (and lots!) of other pieces of trim will have to be displaced in order to route the cable from behind the dash to the boot. It took me around an hour and a half to do this last weekend.

Good news is, that the changer sounds excellent, even with the AS2 unit ( and its standard 4(?) speakers) fitted in my car. Well worth it.

AndyD without a space.
