DI and battery issues.

The engine and valve cover heat up fast and the DI lags behind, so the ID will work the screws loose because of transient heating differential expansion. If you try to keep them from getting loose by makeing them real tight there is a danger of damage to the tapped threads in the valve cover.
Just put some loctite blue on the threads, perhaps one drop, maybe two, and just tighten them down moderately. They will not come loose or fall out. That dose of loctite may last for years. No need to re-apply every time you have the DI off.
Three screws would not effect the DI operation. But a bad battery connection, or low electrolyte levels are well known to cause problems. These problems have always been attributed to the ECU. But if battery problems were affecting the DI instead of the ECU the observations would be the same... who knows. The problems are real enough.
If things are now OK, perhaps you don't need a DI right away. Hard to know when isn't it!
Did you just tighen down the terminal, or have it off and do a proper cleaning and 'brighen up' before re-clamping?
