I get around 50000 miles on tires with wear ratings of 140 to 180. I really wonder what folks do to eat up tires. So with my tires lasting a long time, geting sticky performance tires makes a lot of sense. If I was having tires wear as fast as others I would probably have a shift of values.

I am waiting to wear out my Michelin Pilot Sports(220's) that I purchased April 2000. Not near the wear bars yet. They are getting noisy, so I look forward to replacing with Potenza S-03's. These will be 220's.

I can't say that the Pilot Sports at 220 have lasted much more than the 140 Pilots and P-zeros that I have used. Perhaps. With winter tire usage, the wear per year is variable. I certainly did not run with winter tires much last year!

I think that if you are nice to a performance tire and give it time to age harden from heat and use, they become quite durable.
