The one and only, so far, heatercore that I have replaced seemed to be leaking from where the two brass pipes are connected to the heatercore.
The O-ring and plastic clamp system used, leaves a lot to wish for.
The O-ring on the pipe barely seats inside heatercore, and a plastic clip is squeezed over the joint to hold pipe to core.
It looked like the plastic clip had allowed the pipe to move out enough so that coolant was seeping past the O-ring.
Since it was the first core replacement, I didn't dare to just fix the O-rings. Since you never know if it is a tiny leak in the core itself.
So far the car is not leaking, which is good for me.
