Trying not to turn this into a too much of a kill thread...I have a 5-speed and an MBC (and a turbo obviously), so there's a little edge on boost...

You'll have a hard time taking many others off the line. First gear's too short and it's very hard to get a crisp upshift. I took a 330 off the line but it required inadvisable abuse of the trans. The mid-6 0-60 time in the early NG is mostly a factor of its great acceleration beyond 30 mph making up for its seriously subpar launch capabilities.

You will tear the lungs out of nearly anything on the highway going 50-80+. The acceleration rate at highway speed is absolutely ludicrous and FWd is no longer an issue. I've walked away from everything above plus 540s, older M3's (new ones are a task, don't go there) and an Audi A6 2.7T (no contest). The best kill (sorry scott!) was of my friend's Boxtser S, in a brutal uphill pasting that caused him to later leap from the Porsche and demand to know "just what the F--K" I'd put in the Saab.

Unfortunately, playing around at those speeds is really not terribly responsible or legal in the US. The Autobahn crowd may have more light to shed on the issue, where three-digit speeds are more of a requirement than a risk...

Your greatest advantage, if you choose to engage in street brinksmanship, is the fact that nobody's expecting much out of your Saab. It's not really a known quantity.
