78000 miles
The vehicle should be around 1/2 way through the second set of tires.
The brakes should be fine as far as pad thickness goes, unless lots of city driving. The rear pads need to be looked at for even wear, inboard and outboard pads need to be looked at. The inboard pad backing plates can get rust bound in the caliper slots. I would want to look to see that the piston boots were good too.
Inspect for oil leaks at the lowest spot in the bell housing.
The OEM hose clamps need to be tighened up, as the rubber moves under them and the clamping pressure falls off. This is mostly a problem for the small hoses.
Check that the low oil lamp works during lamp test. Bad pressure switches.
Both head lamp wipers work, 5 washer jets work. Rear wiper is not loose at the shaft (nuts were loose from factory)
AC works, the site glass does not show green leak trace tie.
Tires run smooth at 50-65 mpg. If not, don't accept an offer to banalce the tires without a re-test drive, as balanced bent wheels don't run well. The rims get bent on these vehicles.
I would not want to see the orignal battery still in service.
Check the fog lamps, they are prone to getting stoned, and the bulbs are a PAIN to change.
The coolant should have been flushed by this point and the brakes been bled. If the hand brake wants adjustment, don't do it. The rotor needs to be pulled and the mechanism freed up and lubricated. The pads only wear when they hang up. Routine adjustment is insane. But the dealers love to do is, and love to install dealer only very expensive tiny parking brake shoes.
The serp belt should have been replaced already. The upper idler pully is getting quite old. They dry up, self destruct, dump the belt and you need a tow truck. There is anothe idler pully, not so prone to failure, but many replace for safety sake.
Check tie rod ends and ball joints. Sometimes tie rods fail, ball joints last quite well, but when they go, you need a new control arm!
Check power antenna
Check the power mirros
Check the auto AC for fan and vent operation
Check the info display for dropped pixel rows or columns
There should be two working remote entry fobs
There should be an owners manual
There should be a radio anti theft code card
There should be a jack tire and screw driver in the trunk, the fake tire spares go flat... just pump it back up.
Check the rear window defogger, can be difficult to detect if you cant fog it up.
Check power seat, and check that the drivers heated seal works.
Boost should go to the start of the red in 3'd gear and above. Lower is normal for the lower gears.
