My rule of thumb, reset the average speed on the SID when you change the oil. Check the average after a month of your normal driving pattern and multiply that number by 200 (hours). (ex. avg speed 35 multiplied by 200 hours is 7500 miles) that will give you a safe change interval. Higher average speed = more highway driving for a longer change interval, lower speed means more stop & go city driving for a shorter change interval. It pretty much follows the owners manual.
