What have you done to check out the O2 sensor?
Look for air leaks between the MAF and engine. The o-ring seals between the plastic plenum and the throttle body (TB) can be installed wrong or displaced.
Did you clean and lube the IAC valve?
Damage to the large hose from TB to evap control system solenoid valve?
If the ECU goes into limp home dummy mod because it can't cope, it might not recover automatically when you fix something.
Check the resistance from the O2 sensor body(s?) to the battery ground cable's connector at the battery post. (Cold engine) It should be zero ohms or a fraction of an ohm. You might need a better DMM to measure low resistance. If you find resistance, trace it back to find out where in the exhaust system, going towards the block that you find the resistance. Some bits might need to be sanded to get through oxide to get a good contact. If its at the O2 senor to pipe junction, back it out a wee bit and brighten up the contact faces with some fine wet/dry sandpaper and reseat. You should not need to remove the cable etc.
