Clutch master cylinder or clutch? Dean, Anders, anyone

Today the clutch pedal on my 98 900SET 76K wouldn't come all the way up, the clutch was grabbing close to the floor. It's been just under two years since the clutch fluid was bled so I thought that could be the problem.
I tried bleeding them by having my daughter push the clutch pedal to the floor than opening the bleed valve (on top of the transmission). I had a clear hose running into a jar with break fluid. Lots of air came out and I thought I was home free, unfortunately the pedal would not come up without pulling in. I tried different methods of bleeding it like pumping it three times before releasing but to no avail.
Could my clutch master be bad, or, am I not following the correct procedure. The current state is that there is a little bit of pressure but not enough to engage the clutch.I'm actually starting to like the cable in my wife's convertable at this point.
Any help would be appreciated.
