Well, you had to ask.
The transmission has to be removed, then the clutch, then the flywheel, then the $16 seal can be replaced. This is expensive labor. Most will toss in new clutch components while things are lying on the floor. Some will reseal the trany at that time and switch to Saab synthetic gear oil. So the whole package is quite costly. $800 to $1000 in the US. And might as well put in a new clutch cable at the same time.
It is not something that I would attempt to do myself, unless the weather was good and I had a spare vehicle so it could be done over a period of time instead of one weekend.
Sorry about the bad news. I went through this at 110,000 miles.
What oil are you using now?...in the past?
I had been using mosty Castrol Syntek, which was probably a real synthetic most of that time. I found that Mobil 1 10W30 leaked less. You might try a xW40 synthetic if you are after some leak reduction instead of rushing to the mechanic. I found that the oil addatives that soften and swell seals slightly bought me 6 to 8 months. I noticed that the real seal had some seepage when my 95SET was 1 year old.
The replacement seal is different, a new partnumber.
