So I have determined that the water leak from my car is located in the roof joint where the rear door would be on my car if I had a 4 door. This piece has begun to let in water and has slowly begun to flood my trunk. My issue is this:
I took it to the dealer to see if my car was still in the warranty and they said that it was not but that they could probably fix it for me however, THEY had to diagnose the problem for me and that would take one hour of labor minimum. After telling them that I had found where the leak was coming from they said that that did not matter and that I would still have to have THEM diagnose it first before any work can be done. Also, being that this is a water issue it could take many hours of searching before they could find the source of the leak.
My issue is that I believe that Saab USA should cover this as who has ever heard of a car leaking from the seams that is as young and well maintained (I know that is relative but I baby the hell out of this car) as mine. Do any of you think I have a case with Saab USA and also who or where I should start to call or write. I feel that the quality of Saab has been going down hill fast in the past few years and want to know if I have a case on this matter.
My other issue is that I have a 1972 Saab 95 wagon that starts every day and LEAKS NO WATER. This car is 30+ years old and I have never had a leak problem. I did not have a problem on my previous 9000 or my 1994 900 either. It just seems to be the 1997 that leaks and hmmm... Now that I think of it, our family's 2001 9-3. (but that is a convertible so it is somewhat understandable)
Ok, sorry for this little rant but please let me know if anyone has any suggestions on what I can do. The water is still leaking in, winter is coming (ice) and the car has begun to develop a slight funk from the damp trunk mat and side walls.
Thanks,
Chris.
