I posted a week or two ago about my '97 900SET that became difficult to start after replacing the fuel filter.
Bottom line - it was the FPR that was causing the problem. After replacing the FPR, no more starting issues.
Interesting that there have been several reports of FPR's failing after a filter change. Could be gunk getting into the FPC, as somewone suggested, or maybe just the fact that remocving a restrictive filter makes the FPR work differently than it had for a while.
It did cost me about $80 including tax, and the dealer had to order it, twice. The '97 had a mid-year part change (the diameter of the inside part of the FPR was changed), and even though he checked my VIN, he still ordered the wrong one the first time. Oh well.
It also got me to do some things that I should have done anyway, like clean the throttle body and IAV.
Thanks to all of you who have posted so much great information in here.
Pete
