pause before start is gone!

Well, after 2 different posts regarding my potentially faulty ignition switch, my car has not had any problems starting in the past week. I think the main thing is that I dumped some techron concentrate in the tank 9 days ago and filled the tank half way. I burned through all that and refilled it yesterday. I haven't had any starting problems in 7 or 8 days. So it sounds like it may have been the fuel filter. Does this sound resonable? I figure that I should change it now regardless, as I'm sure the problems will come back sooner or later, and I'd rather not have it happen in the dead of winter.
Speaking of winter, the forecast for Halifax is 6 inches of snow this evening. I slapped my winter tires on this morning. It's only November 6th, this isn't normal weather for around here. We had 1 inch of snow on Saturday, and it stuck to the ground for 48 hours. Crazy. And the lake outside my office window has been frozen for 4 days. Hopefully this indicates that a super ski season is in store.
