My day did not start very well. In Kansas, on K10 going east into Kansas city gets speed surges and slow downs as folks turn into the sun glare, yes it was clear today.

I had the binders on and my GreenStuff pads and performance tires were doing their thing. Max braking, no tire slip and no ABS making up for cheap tires that won't grip. Not the first time by any means that this traffic situation has happened.

A smallish SUV is not stopping. I saw him in the rear view mirror, inbound like a bullet. Well, it seems rather fast in a moment like that. I was not stopped yet, so I had some room in front of me and did not become the guy in the middle. The guy in the SUV did not seem to be braking or not much. He was not following close, just not on the ball. He may have been switching into my lane and got surprised.

He got towed, loosing a lot of engine oil. My bumper is rolled up, right quarter pannel looks ok, left panel is damaged and buckled. The hatch is toast, no busted glass anywhere. All the rear lamps seem ok, did a lamp check with the police, so I was legal to drive. Both rear doors are not fitting the way that they should. The Sports exhaust went under his vehicle and looks ok. The steering is bit off, the rear axle mounts furhter forward have moved.

Wondered how the engine mounts took the impact. Opened the hood and things look ok, the battery had popped out of its clamp. Pushed it back in place.

The radio came out of the dash and was hanging on its cables. The ACC module came out and released its harness connector, found it in the back seat. Put the ACC back in and it remembered my temperature setting etc!

Called George's Imports and got the body shop recomendation and drove there. With an older vehicle, I might be written off.

The Saab seats did their thing, and I have no obvious injuries. The driver's seat is rocking a bit. So the seat mechanism has deformed absorbing the inertial load of my body weight.

I feel rather shook up. I am trying to get settled so I can better observe how I am doing, instead of running to the doctor and not having anything to say.

Not a good day.
