Working on similar problem; see long story at link below. Have since flushed tranny to no avail. Got it in for diagnostic two days ago and they found a fault code indicating "low battery voltage". Tech traced it to faulty ignition switch. His explanation was that excessive resistance in the ignition switch fooled the computer into putting the tranny into "limp home mode" and also caused the intermittant havoc with the ABS light. Switch about $265. plus 3 hrs. labor to R&R plus diag 1/2 hr: approx $500. total. Awaiting part. Hope he is right. Today, car cranked over easily but did not want to start. Leads me to believe he is on the right track because even though plenty of battery, ignition voltage must be down. Will post again when fix is done.
