I assume you have an automatic. Check a past post of mine to find the drain plug. Drain the fluid (only 1/2 of the total will drain) refill and do it again. Some have recommended going to a shop that can flush and fill in one operation. The screen/filter is under a cover in the transmission that can only be accessed by removing the transmission and I am not aware of anyone doing this. Check the color of the fluid as it should be close to what it looks like out of the container; if not doing it a third time might be in order - mine took three changes to get it clean. Do some reading on the board re synthetic ATF and change intervals which might be helpful if you do alot of city driving. You can stick with Dexron II regardless but you should change it more often than recommended for city driving. I intend to change half of the total every 15,000 miles using Dexron II which is probably overkill but its not a big deal in terms of $ or time.
