I'm leaving an update here in case anyone has a similar problem and this info helps. After replacing the carbon filter (vapor canister) which did not fix the problem, again I searched for leaks around the injectors and fuel lines. With the engine off, key on, fuel pump running, I could notice a slight fuel smell when I moved the fuel hose couplings at the fuel rail. By removing the grommets from the fuel rail hose couplings and using a small papertowel as a wick, I found one coupling that was ever so slightly seeping fuel. The fuel was not enough to drip and it would evaporate before it could fill the coupling and overflow! After replacing the o-ring seal in the coupling (not a very easy job)my problem is cured!!! I drove the car on several trips and sat in traffic without the fuel vapor smell. What a relief!
