and the underside of a Saab turbo's hood is a hot place anyway. We have frequent ozone and air quality alerts in the summer, and my a/c runs 9 months out of the year.
Have replaced all 9 coolant hoses, 2 serp belts, a/c and p/s hoses, outer CV joint boots, vacuum hoses and turbo IC hoses. Rumor has it that the 94 model had exceptionally poor rubber (vendor problem?). I don't know who started this, but it is frequently repeated on this board and I tend to agree.
I changed the majority of these out myself so I saw the deterioration first hand. Never had anything but vacuum hoses rotting in my older C900's, even above 150k miles, never before have I needed to change a CV joint boot or IC hoses on any Saab I have owned.
