How long do your valve cover gasket repairs last? I seem to be getting about 8-12 months, depending.
Hey, Anders, that comment about the silicone sealant was interesting, even though they sell it as a gasket sealant, it just didn't feel right. I used the black stuff on the rear VC's, and that seems to be holding, whereas the fronts, with the blue silicone stuff, started leaking after only a month or two. Good thing I used it in front not in back, although I did buy 2-3 intake manifold gaskets just to keep handy. How much for a new valve cover? I figure fixing it for about $10 a pop is cheaper.
Hey, Ron, why not DIY it? get some tools, get your hands all dirty, impress the chicks, etc. There are detailed posts here from me and others. At least you can DIY the front, it only takes a few tools and some time.
