My experience with Midas was not good. Saab uses a special type of connection between pipes, like a knob on one end and a bowl on the other to receive it (picture your left hand grasping your right fist, that's the general picture of it). Midas used a straight pipe for the "fist" part and filled in the gaps with miffler goo when I had them do the middle muffler. It was actually louder than before. I had the dealer replace that muffler, then returned it for a refund The look on their face when I pulled their muffler out of my car, I think I was the first person ever to ask for a refund, they didn't even know the procedure.
If you have simple DIY skills, and the time and inclination, see my post just a few lines down in response to Derek in Durham, you can DIY it in the time it would take to bring it to the dealer. Get a replacement cheap from a site sponsor. No opinion on OEM v. other brands.
