Tranies are expensive. If the trany is out to do the input shaft seal, I assume that they will do all 4 seals and the clutch kit too. If the flywheel is off to be turned, renew the engine rear seal too.
Until the trany is open, its hard to see what the problem is. If they get a rebuilt trany, the labour is not much different then. If they rebuild, thats another story. Perhaps the trany was running low on oil? Popping sound?
