The maintenance fees in these cars are outrageous! The cost is all labor. Things that cost 30 dollars and a few minutes turn into 400 dollars and a lot of pain at a dealer/mechanic. So if you are not a DIY do not take this car into consideration. Unless, of course, you are loaded and do not mind to support the economy by paying a lot for repairs.
The common problems with these cars are beautifully documented on this website. The help here is tremendous, if you are not a DIY and want to start, this is the place to come. Lots of helpful folks here will guide you through the repairs of the most common problems. If you do not like being a grease monkey, I suggest you shy away from the car.
Just my 2 cents.
1996 Saab 900 SET 75 K and loving it! (I do my own work).
