Well, I don't have a convertible (they have their own issues with tops, motors and such) and my '95 SEt is a 5 speed (I have little use for autoboxes) but I can tell you that my car has (as of today) 204,135 miles--and there have been no problems with the engine. The headgasket is original and has just started to barely weep. Turbocharger is original as well--it's beginning to show its age (stomp on the gas hard and watch the smoke come out of the tailpipe!) Maintenance is really, really important--I've pretty much followed the book. LOF every 5K (which is about every month and a half) and the usual 30K once a year. My Saab came to live with me 5 years ago--she had 19K on her then. My mechanic has a hard time remembering that she's a '95! So, if the maintenance has been done, you shouldn;t have to worry about the engine. Good luck!!
