Last fall, I had a problem with the car having rough idle at the first start in the morning. One day the car died, I had no problem restarting it. I checked the plugs and the gap was a way too large. So I corrected it to the proper gap (.024 for non-turbo NOT .039 (turbo) like i think it was). The problem was gone. A little after, I cleaned the IAC valve on Dean's recommandation. By the way, brand new titanium plugs are $25 cdn a piece at the dealer.

We are having a couple of very low temp days up in Montreal (between -21C and -27 C at night). So one morning it was -24C and wanted to start the car early. When I turned the ignition key, the starter revolution was so low that I was thinking that only a miracle would start it. I think I was lucky that day, the car started like (almost) a new one! I have the original battery (4 1/2 years) and I am only driving in the city (small course). The only thing that happened, is that the transmission (auto) didn't engage to the drive position (the stick was). I had to push a little bit the gas for the transmission to engage. But apart that, the car is OK in cold weather (except for high gas consumption and largely varying consumption on SID)

Maybe your problem is weak battery related? It is temp related so I think is one logical cause. On the forum, there's all kind of weird problem related to weak battery.

Good luck!
