i agree with the previous post. I would be concerned if it is a RI car, the top has most likely seen less use than if it is a FL car. That is good. The trouble with the top stems mostly from the Tonneau cover motor assembly, you can find out the details just by typing tonneau cover in the search. A few folks have installed a beefier bracket to take the strain off of the weaker one. not a very hard job, just something to think about doing or checking into instead of the $500 for a new motor if it burns out. Second part: The V6 is praised by some, not by others. Its a personal taste. I ended up with a 2.0 turbo and a 5 speed, a great combination. my wifes car is the regular 2.3 and with a 5 speed, also a great driving little car. she loves it. the V6 needs some extra care with the timing belt, every 30K, there was a post not too long ago that said his engine seized after failure of only 18K, so you answer the question for yourself. Is that hassle worth the V6? The other engines use a chain instead of a belt. I love my 96, i just bought it in early Jan with 42K, it is a great car. I wish the temp would get over 50 so I could actually DRIVE with the top down, but in NY, well, you all know how it's been lately. Spring will come. We'll be waiting...
