Was returning home from a trip (200 miles) and the "coolant level low" came on in SID. After returning home, I added a non-SAAB coolant (50% diluted). Shortly after, the "Check engine" light came on. Periodically comes on and goes off. It doesn't flash when the key is in "ON" position. I checked the gas cap. The mechanic used a OBDII and all it said was "no data". He tried the laptop and another software but communication was not established.
Dealer charges $150 just to hook up the reader. What options do I have?

Mechanic swears vehicle is completely normal, the sign is not due to coolant. Performed a 65K tune-up recently.
