SOS timing belt

hey.
came home today and a funny cracking noise was coming from the timing belt side. desided to go to my mechanic by got stock in the middle of the road. now the car doesn't start. i opened timing belt cover the belt was there in one piece, tried starting the car but belt pillies would not turn. can anybody suggest something
