2.3L Valve Cover gasket questions

I've got a real slow seeping from the front corner of the valve cover gasket on my 95 2.3L NA motor. Looks to be coming from the corner near the distributor. I ordered the gasket kit from eEuroparts a while back, but have a couple of quick questions:
- Should I use any gasket sealant on the gasket , or just make it clean/dry on both surfaces? In the past on other cars, I've used a real thin layer on both sides just to keep the gasket in place during assembly - but haven't used the round o-ring type of gasket for the Saabs before...
- I suspect part of the seeping is the o-ring around the distributor shaft (since the valve cover gasket doesn't go underneath the distibutor shaft). Is this something I can easily replace once the cover is off? I've done o-rings on GM shafts before, and you just slide the distributor shaft out, replace the ring, and put it back. I know you can get the o-ring separately, but is replacement a pain?
thx - andy
