I have used Bar's Leaks in the past with good results. It stopped a persistant coolant leak on the head of my Alfa Romeo. Also stopped a leaky radiator on a Jeep CJ. The only downside I saw was that it turned the coolant a nasty sludge brown color and stained the coolant tank. Some people have reported that it plugged-up the radiator or heater core, but perhaps those cores were already close to plugged.

My best results were obtained by using a turkey baster or such to withdraw about a cup of coolant from the colant reservior and put it into a clean container. Then add the bar's leaks and mix throughly before putting the mixture back in to the coolant tank.
