With a new engine, why would the oil pan be leaking, it should have a new gasket. I can't foresee how it could get bashed, it is protected by the subframe. Mine is leaking, but due to age not injury. I am going to DIY it but need an engine hoist (according to the instructions, I don't know if you can do without) and a torque wrench that goes up to about 170 ft lbs (to re-install the subframe) and you also need female torx drivers, a ratchet wrench and a 7" extension. You need to remove the subframe, it is in the way of complete access to bolts, and removal of the oil pan.
Finally, site sponsors and others have the gasket itself for between $22 and $39. Looks like a full day project, DIY, faster for the dealer, maybe a 1/2 day?
The DIY skills seem basic, its just the lack of proper tools holding me back.
