All gear type clamps on rubber hoses need to be periodically re-tighened as the rubber yields under the clamps and preload pressure is lost. This should be done when a vehicle is relatively new as well, as this is when the rate of deformation of the rubber is the fastest. The Saab OEM gear clamps do not work well with small diameter hoses as the non-flexible section of the gear clamp is rather too flat. All stainless clamps from the hardware store will work better for small hoses. A liner material under the clamp is a good idea so that rubber will not cut and extrude through the slits in the band. A folded over strip of cloth tape will work nice, so no adhesive is exposed. Yes... duct tape!
