associated with changing the fuel filter. I bought one last year and it is sitting on the shelf in my garage. My car now has 120,000 miles on it with the original gas filter. The filter is quite large and looks to have a high crud capacity. After reading many posts about failures of fuel pumps or regulators right after changing the filter, I believe something occurs that prompts demise of these expensive items right after changing the filter. Have not seen any posts on clogged fuel filters, so my policy for now will be to leave it alone and I will carry the spare with the new washers in my trunk with all the other stuff. I cant see creating any avoidable expenses for myself. I have an AAA card for free towing...so...roll the dice.
