I have a 1998 900 SE. I've repaired and replaced lots of stuff, but a lot of it was
preventive maintenance or stuff that I broke! For example:

Worn out strut bearings replaced w/ stock
Worn out transmission mount replaced w/ stock
Stock front suspension bushings replaced w/ Abbott parts
Stock springs replaced w/ Abbott parts
Stock exhaust replaced w/ Saab sport exhaust
Missing/broken power seat knobs (snap on)
Sunroof plastic drain tube replaced (don't know how that broke!)
Replaced timing belt and pulleys at 65k miles
Flushed and refilled trans fluid at 65k miles (saab synth)
Front brake rotors replaced w/ Abbott and again w/ Zimmerman
Original water pump replaced w/ stock
Original intercooler replaced w/ updated crossflow design

There are some things that do not respond well to performance use and/or driver abuse.
I would say that the braking system is not up to track duty, unless you are a novice and
don't push the car very hard. They will fade and give you mushy pedal no matter what
pads or fluid you are using. SS lines do not help either. Also the transmission (like
most saab units) is not a speed-shifting device, and will break if you hammer the shifter
(manual trans only).

The cable-actuated clutch on the 1994-1997 cars does not have a good reputation. I think
it feels poor underfoot, and they break on a regular basis too (search this board - it's
recommended that you drive with an extra cable at all times).

Weak and clunky front strut mounts (bearings) is a theme with the newgen 900's, but they
are $50 each from Tirerack and not too hard to swap out.

So far, the jewel of the car has been the 2.0 Turbo motor. I bought the car with 57k miles
and now it has 95k miles, and I'm still amazed at how smooth and powerful the stock 2.0T is.
I have the 200hp HOT computer and the Saab sport exhaust, both parts make a big difference.

Also at this mileage I'm told that I should buy a DI Cassette and carry that in the car
at all times...they can fail spontaneously and there is no fix short of replacing it. DS
