Repair for electric window failure

Had a recent window failure* on the rear passenger side of my '94 900SE V6 (decent drive for the couple of years that I've had it). The motors, switches, etc. work fine, it's just that the grey nylon bearing piece in the vertical guide cracked and split apart around the large rivet fastening it to the back plate and roller that connects to the window glass holder (make any sense?). Anyway, I spoke to my nearest Saab dealer who quoted me $270.00 for the entire regulator assembly as the guide part is not available separately. I don't see the need to spend this much when such a small part (although crucial) has failed. Does anyone have any experience with this type of failure and/or repair? Is my best bet to contact a dismantler for the part I need? Any recommendations on who best to contact? (I'm in Florence, South Carolina). Finally, does the Haynes manual cover the window disassemble/reassemble in any kind of detail? If I get new parts or repair what I have I'd like to know how to put everything back together again!
Thanks,
Nigel
* I was driving home with the kids when one of them had a "gas attack" in the back of the car. Instead of donning my bio-chem suit, I wound a couple of the windows down but got complaints about the car being too cold. The rear window controls weren't locked out so my eldest and I played window wars for the few seconds that it took to push the mechanism to failure. You live and learn!
