raise the tonneau top far enough for easy access in the area, stop. now, get some tools out and take the cover off of the underside of the tonneau, underneath is a motor that raises the side flaps and unhooks/hooks the latches. chances are that the clips that hold the assembly steady are broken and the plates are misaligned. easy fix, you can get the clips from saab for $3 each but they are sucky plastic, or go to sears and get a 3/4" #10 bolt and nut and lock washer and replace with these like I did. mind you, you must not tighten them all the way, they need to be loose enough for the plates to slide freely. You will know what I mean when you get this open and have a look. easy fix, lots of folks say right away tonneau motor....wrong. easy job, you'll see.
