The tensioner is actually the pulley that blew apart on your wife's car. It is an automatic tensioner, so no need to set it. If you haven't done this already, search for drs<underscore>install and look for the short serpentine belt install post, it outlines the procedure for changing the belt to a shorter configuration that the new 9-3s use. It also bypasses the lower idler pully, which I've heard is a pain in the butt to replace. Make sure to remove the passenger side wheel and fender liner as well as the air intake box as this will make the job alot easier. I just did the exact same procedure about two weeks ago because my upper idler blew apart too! Its a pretty straight forward job that seems to be a fairly common problem. Depending on your mechanical inclination should be an hour or two. Good Luck!
