My sun roof has troubles closing this spring. It seems as though it is running into something when it is 3/4 shut that impedes its progress. I have always been able to get it shut with a bit of manual help and a couples runs at it, but I'd like to figure out what's wrong. I greased the tracks, but this did not solve the problem. And last week a 4 inch piece of red plastic string (wire or cable) came out. This would indicate that something is broken or coming apart.

My sun roof has also been persistently leaking over the last 6 months, despite several attempts to unclog the drain holes. The persistent leak may have lead to my current problems.

I really like my sunroof in the summer since my A/C doesn't work (and I'm not shelling out $1500 CAD to fix it). But it has been causing me no end of troubles over the last 6 months. I really want to get it back to working order.
