Windshield replacement & headliner edge fix

Over the years, this has been a topic of some interest, especially since the factory NG900 windscreen seems to "soft" and easily pitted.
I recently had the windscreen (a.k.a. windshield) replaced on my '96 900SET 3 dr. Safelite did the job, and it took about 45 minute at my workplace carpark (a.k.a. parking lot). They used PPG glass, and it had the upper black band of the correct configuration, as well as having the cowl rubber seal pre-bonded to the glass. Cost: about 350 (us$).
After the windscreen replacement, I decided to fix the headline front edge "droop" that existed on either side of the rearview mirror. After some testing it appears GE Silicone Household adhesive one of the better readily available adhesives for this application.
One must, however, place something against the headliner outer surface until the adhesive sets. I used (2) cut legnths of "1x2" pine, with one piece placed from the windshield base outward on the top of the dash, and the other from the end of the first piece to the headliner edge, with the two pieces forming an obtuse angle of 135 degrees or so.
