A big than you to Dean and the other gurus on this board. Two weeks ago I purchased a clean 900 SE 2.0 turbo convertible with 44k miles. The car is very clean but ran like a dog - no boost. I got it for $3000 below blue book private purchase value from a dealer!
I know nothing about Saabs and very little about cars in general, but I figured that for $3000 I could get the thing running right.
Per Dean's suggestion I changed the plugs - (I had a helluva time finding them, but way to go Saab when I figured it out!)and they were trashed. No boost tho. I was crushed.
Turns out that the waste gate actuator (or whatever the arm with the z bend in front of the turbo unit is) was disconnected due to a missing cotter pin!
Whoever dumped the car should have checked out this board! The car now has some righteous pep in it's step and I have a grin that only surgery could remove.
Now about that Dawes device...
