I do get a CEL if I don't back off the throttle when the issue happens. Mechanic said it was just a code for "misfiring".
Plugs have been done twice actually...once on their own and then once when the DI cassette was tried. With the new DI and plugs it still did it.
It will only begin to misfire once the engine is completely warm. When it starts it only starts if I am passing or going uphill where the turbo gauge shows the turbo working. Backing off on the speed will let me limp along for a bit but that "speedlimit" where the misfiring begins to occur will slowly get lower and lower to where I cannot go into the boost at all. Makes hills almost impossible and passing a joke because trucks are passing me usually.
Stopping and letting the car cool down for 15 minutes will let me drive another 30 to 60 minutes without the problem again usually. Although that test was done in winter...I'm sure I won't get as far in the summer.
